Integrated Massage

Combining several massage modalities, I  create a personalized session for each client. I always begin by listening carefully to what has been happening in my client's life to ensure, by the end of the session, my client feels relaxed and balanced.

This style of massage is usually unclothed work that incorporates the use of massage oil.  Acupressure,  trigger point and reflexology can be done with the client clothed.

In a 90 minute session there is time to combine Reiki, craniosacral therapy or lymphatic drainage with the massage.
"Elizabeth is truly fantastic. She is dedicated to her patient in every way. Her level of knowledge and experience is extremely impressive and the application of it to the therapy session brings the experience from good to amazing. With Elizabeth you will never feel rushed. She has many modalities that are tailored to the patients needs. She is there for one person, you. I am truly blessed and thankful to have her as my therapist." -Eric G.

Using acupressure to release the top of the shoulders. Acupressure supports meridian flow, which promotes relaxation.

Craniosacral Therapy

How do you know if you would benefit from craniosacral therapy? Have you been thinking so much that your head feels tight? Have you received traditional massage but the muscles won't let go?  Does it feel challenging to take a relaxing breath? Do you have  pain alternating between the base of your skull and your sacrum? Do you feel anxious and unable to settle? Does your jaw stay tight or your ears ring?

Craniosacral therapy help the client relax into a meditative state.  The body has inherent wisdom on what it need to heal. As the client relaxes, I listen to the body and follow its cues to improve the flow of the cerebral spinal fluid and reset the nervous system. Clients experience a feeling of spaciousness within their body and  a sense of peace.

This is fully clothed work. A client wears comfy clothing.

The Craniosacral Therapy Association in the UK has created a short video that shows the beauty of this modality while explaining how it works. Just clink on the link below.

Checking on the mobility of ribs, diaphragm, and liver. Greater mobility in this area allows for easier breath and lymph flow.

Lymphatic Drainage

How do you know if you need lymphatic drainage therapy?  Do you have a feeling of fullness or stiffness some place in your body?

With tight muscles you can feel the knots in the muscles strands.  When the lymph system  isn't flowing well, the area will be a smoother tightness where you don't feel individual muscles strands.  A client may say the area feels like "concrete."  It causes achy pain with movement.  Any abdominal surgeries can cause leg swelling. Pain in the feet can be related to sluggish lymph in the legs. The lymph not flowing in the neck and shoulders  can create constant sinus pressure in the head. Lymphatic drainage can relieve pressure from fluid around the eyes and ears.

Want more details about how lymph  works in your body?  Click on the link below and be amazed by all that the lymph system does.

Some clients schedule a full body lymph session a few times a years to  keep the immune system running smoothly. Others ask to incorporate lymph work for the head and neck into their massage session to relieve sinus pressure.

This is a light touch therapy that helps improve the flow of the lymph system throughout the body.  This can be clothed or unclothed work.  For clothed work, the client wears comfy loose clothing.

Learn to drain your own head!  I am a believer in helping my clients to help themselves. Heather Wibbels, an LMT from Kentucky,  has made a series of great how to videos on self lymph drainage. Understanding these techniques can help a client feel more comfortable until they can get in for a session.

Use these lymphatic drainage massage techniques from Louisville massage therapist Heather Wibbels, LMT on yourself to reduce congestion and sinus pressure in the head. This is great for allergy sufferers and people with head colds. I have included a link to her helpful video below.

Listening to the body. Noticing where the energy flows and where it is stagnant.

Reiki

My Reiki teacher said, "It's all the same but different." She was referring to the many different energy modalities.  All energy healing taps into universal divine love and guidance to support the client and the practitioner.  Some modalities have ceremony (Shamanistic) or tools (crystals, healing bowls, essential oils, etc.) to support the process.

Reiki, in my own words, is a simple, prayerful method of allowing divine love and healing from the Universe to travel through the practitioner to the client.  Honestly, the practitioner is not the healer.  It's the client's willingness to heal combined with the practitioner's openness to be a conduit for the healing.

How do you know if Reiki is right for you?

Do you feel stuck? Do you find yourself in the same uncomfortable situation over and over and wonder why? Do you feel there is an emotion that is out of balance, over or under reactive? Is there a physical pain that doesn't seem to go away despite treatment?  Our bodies have physical, mental, emotional and spiritual layers. Dis-ease can begin on any layer and affect the other three. Some time a physical symptom can't heal until another layer is addressed.

Often, clients create an intention for their session based on their symptoms and the related chakras. Clients without any particular issue,  come in a few times a years for an "energy tune up." Balanced chakras equal balance life.

Micheal Sealey created an amazing series of guided meditations that are available on YouTube and iTunes. These meditations are from 30 minutes to 2 hours in length.  They are very helpful in not only creating harmony but  in turning off the brain at night whether at bedtime or when waking at 2:00 AM.  The link below is to a meditation to balance the charkas.

Many years ago, Louise Hay wrote an amazing, practical book entitled, Heal Your Body. The root cause of much dis-ease, pain, disfunction is negative thoughts and emotions.  This book contains charts of the problems, root causes and positive affirmations that create space for healing. You can also find this list in many forms on the internet. Search for" Lousie Hay list of meanings of disease." The link below will get you to the book on Amazon. FYI, if a root cause makes you feel agitated, there's problem something there to reflect on.
