6/8/2019 0 Comments Just BreatheThe number one bit of advice I give clients is to breathe. This may sound like a ridiculous reminder. We have to breathe to live, right? Many of us forget to breathe well as we be busy or stressed. Taking a few minutes here and there throughout the daily rush of life to mindfully breathe can be life changing. How we breathe affects all body systems. It affects our mental and emotionally well being. Becoming consistent with breath awareness can provide relief to many chronic ailments and disorders. When we breathe deeply, moving our ribs in all directions, we signal the body that all is well. The body can release the need to be in fight or flight. When we breathe deeply, we encourage movement within our body; improving the function of our organs and body systems. Craniosacral Therapy and/or Reiki provide clients support to find that healing breath, to become aware of where the breath isn't flowing. These therapies help clients find deep relaxation and from that space, their path to well being. It takes about 30 days to create a new habit. Doing something as simple setting reminders on your phone to take several breathing breaks throughout the day can be life changing. Our children consciously and unconsciously follow our example. If we are stressed and not breathing, they are following our lead. We can empower them with tools for self care. Mindful breathing is a discreet and simple tool they can carry with them into any situation. The breathing meditation link below has a gif to offer a visual aid for the breath. YouTube is full of guided breathing mediations. Local yoga studio and meditation groups may offer classes just on the breath. Some breathing practices are more aggressive than others and are best practiced within a class setting at first. Always choice methods that feel supportive of your needs and feels comfortable for you.
